Sometimes it is hard, when I upload these NGD videos, to find a satisfactory title for each of them.  This video, I uploaded twice with different titles.  It is one of my two favorite NGD aphorisms.

Only the trivial protects us

To invent solutions

 

I try to imagine objections to this aphorism.  What about cancer, poverty, and global warming?  To this I reply: Have the attempted solutions to these problems make things better?  If anything, the solutions have broken souls.  Problems are to be lived, not solved.

Catholicism

 

That’s why I want to be Catholic.

It misses the point of what NGD was saying.  The commentator then goes on a Catholic deranged or USA deranged rant.  

Ineffableness

 

I hope I pronounced the word properly. The English word that is. I think the Spanish word originally used would be easier to say.

This is an interesting aphorism.  On first reading, it is liberating.  We can take it to mean we don’t have to be bothered.  But there is a deeper meaning to this.  This world is a vale of tears.  No intelligent person wants to try to crate a utopia on it.
